I just got back from a super fun trip to India! One of the highlights of the trip for me was visiting Jodhpur in Rajasthan, which is where I source my henna powder from. Henna (Mehndi in Hindi) is ubiquitous in India - you can see heaps of powder in the local markets, plenty of people on the streets wearing "everyday" henna designs, newly married women wearing intricate designs that go from finger tips to elbows, older ladies wearing some rustic patterns and men with hair and beard dyed with henna. I am now back home in San Francisco chock full of inspiration and a ton of new ideas for henna designs! Here's a small piece I did inspired by one of the (many) design books I picked up there.
